Folanx® - The New Range of Highly Available Leaf Fertilizer Products
The new Folanx® leaf fertilizer product range is the result of long and intensive research and the ensuing development of new application opportunities for calcium formate, which is a formic acid calcium salt and an established product.
"Folanx®" has been registered by LANXESS Distribution GmbH as an own brand for the new product range.

_Folanx® Ca29, which was the first product in the new leaf fertilizer series, has been on the market since 2007. It is a calcium leaf fertilizer with a high plant tolerance level. Due to the high level of calcium available to the plant (1450 g calcium per ha and application) it is used in the fruit-growing trade in the period after blossoming and up to harvesting to improve the supply of calcium. From a plant-physiological viewpoint the advantage lies in the highly effective way it combats bitter pits and skin and flesh browning in pip fruit.
Additionally, Folanx® Ca29 improves apple shelf life by stabilizing the fruits and their skins by maintaining a balanced potassium/calcium ratio.

Further Development of the Folanx® Product Range
Continuing on from the positive results achieved in test conditions using Folanx® Ca29 - results which were also achieved in practice - a boron leaf fertilizer was developed on the basis of Folanx® Ca29 and added to the product range. The name of this product is _Folanx® B.
A boron deficiency often occurs in those periods of growth where calcium fertilization is normally scheduled. Initial tests have shown that Folanx® Ca29 combined with a boron compound can deliver good results.

Licensing Status
Calcium formate has been classified as an EU fertilizer since February 17, 2011.
Folanx® Ca29 is approved as a calcium leaf fertilizer in Germany and Austria in accordance with the National Fertilizer Ordinance.
The product is also licensed in Switzerland.
Folanx® B is approved as a calcium boron leaf fertilizer in Germany and Austria in accordance with the National Fertilizer Ordinance.
This product too is licensed in Switzerland.
Calcium formate has been classified as an EU fertilizer since February 17, 2011.
